As summer unfolds, Shoreview offers a variety of events to engage residents and visitors alike. Here’s a look at some upcoming activities:
Shoreview Farmers Market
The Shoreview Farmers Market is in full swing, bringing fresh produce and artisan goods to the community. Held every Tuesday afternoon from June 2 to September 1, the market operates from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the lower parking lot of the Shoreview Community Center. In the later season, from September 8 to October 13, the hours shift to 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. It’s a great opportunity to support local vendors and enjoy seasonal offerings.
Concerts in the Commons
Music lovers can enjoy the ‘Concerts in the Commons’ series every Wednesday evening from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM at the Haffeman Pavilion behind the Shoreview Community Center. The lineup features talented local musicians, including Shoreview’s own Northern Lights Variety Band and the renowned Red Bull Band. Bring a chair or blanket and enjoy a relaxing summer evening filled with music.
City Council Meetings
For those interested in local governance, the City Council holds regular meetings on the first and third Monday of each month. The next meeting is scheduled for June 15 at 7:00 PM in the City Council Chambers at 4600 Victoria Street North. These meetings are open to the public and provide insight into city operations and decision-making processes.
Environmental Quality Committee Meeting
The Environmental Quality Committee meets on the fourth Monday of each month to discuss environmental, water quality, and solid waste issues. The next meeting is on June 22 at 7:00 PM in the City Hall Council Chambers. Residents interested in environmental initiatives are encouraged to attend.
These events offer a wonderful opportunity to engage with the Shoreview community, enjoy local entertainment, and participate in civic activities. Mark your calendars and make the most of what our city has to offer this June.
